Baszta nr 12 presents the activities of the Museum in Chojnice in 2011-2012. It shows the range of museum projects carried out at that time, primarily aimed at discovering the collections of the museum, as well as covering a variety of historical topics related to the wider region of South Pomerania. Traditionally, the Baszta also includes coverage of exhibitions, educational and research projects, as well as those related to the preservation of the collections and investment work. Particularly noteworthy is the published partial catalogue of the ethnographic collection of the Chojnice Museum, which is a set of works by an outstanding contemporary Kashubian artist Józef Chełmowski from Brus. An important issue discussed in the booklet is an account of events that are part of the celebrated 80th anniversary of the Museum in Chojnice in 2012. It included, among others, the museum conference: The museum in the local space. Preservation of heritage and contemporary challenges, a study devoted to the history of the first inland sailing club in Poland - in Chojnice on the Charzykowskie Lake and its founder Otto Weiland, or a summary of the conservation renovation of the interior of the Gothic Człuchowska Gate carried out in 2011-2012 with financial assistance from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, which made it possible to discover previously unknown traces of Teutonic architectural solutions. Since this issue, the notebook has been enriched with a chapter of reviews of interesting Pomeranian historical publications.
