I. OFFER OF EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR THE YOUNGEST


1. Bag with Kashubian or folk toy

Classes are aimed at children and adolescents. During the painting workshop, everyone will decorate a cotton bag on their own with a motif depicting the image of a Kashubian woman. We will be modelled on the characteristic log hives, known from the sculptures of folk artist Jozef Chelmowski ( 1936 - 2013 ). Younger children are invited to decorate the bag with the motif of a colourful folk toy, also inspired by an original toy made by this author. Jozef Chelmowski - an outstanding Kashubian folk artist is known as a sculptor, painter, philosopher and creator of the open-air museum in Brusy - Jaglia. During the museum classes, we will also try to talk about his interesting work.

2. Bookmark with the image of the Człuchowska Gate.

Classes begin with a meeting at the Czluchowski Gate, during which children will learn about its history and architecture. In the next part of the workshop participants will prepare their bookmark with the image of Czluchowska Gate using colored paper and crayons.

Duration of class: ca 45 min.

3. Souvenir from Kashubia.

Art classes consist of decorating wooden kitchen utensils with elements of Kashubian embroidery. During the workshop participants will also learn about the symbolism of colors used in Kashubian design. Hand-made "souvenirs" from Kashuby will be an excellent reward for children for active participation in the classes.

Duration: about 45 min.

4. Wooden bird.

Participants, based on originally painted birds from the museum collection, using poster paints will decorate previously carved models in wood. Such a self-made decoration will make a beautiful decoration for the house.

II. OFFER OF EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR CHILDREN AGE 6 AND OLDER

2. Is it possible to build the Człuchowska Gate by yourself? We created a paper model of the tower.

The workshop is directed to children from 8 years old. In the first part of the class, children will learn about the history and architecture of the Człuchowska Gate, dating back to the Middle Ages. In the second part of the meeting, participants will be given the task of glueing a paper model of the building, prepared in the form of a compilation. For this purpose, ready-made colour prints, glue and a little imagination will be used. Then creating an artistic image of the Człuchowska Gate will not be difficult at all.

3. Getting to know Kashubian folk costume - handicraft workshops.

The workshop is addressed to children from 8 years old. During the classes we will present the history, tradition and modern face of clothing, referring to the Kashubian culture. Using a wooden spoon, crepe paper and tissue paper folk motifs, we will show how to make a Kashubian costume. We provide art materials, a pleasant atmosphere and the property of the authors of the costume - a self-dressed Kashubian doll.

6. Independent Chojnice. Symbols and Identity.

Joining in the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Poland's regaining independence, the Julian Rydzkowski Historical and Ethnographic Museum in Chojnice invites children and young people to participate in a series of museum meetings dedicated to this important anniversary. We will begin by talking about national symbols, and the loss and regaining of Poland's sovereignty. We will answer the question of why the regaining of Independence in our city and region took place as late as 1920, and learn about the unique history of the banner with a hand-sewn White Eagle appliqué, from the collection of the Chojnice museum. Then, "armed" with this knowledge, the students will independently make a copy of the valuable Chojnice symbol of regaining Independence, exhibited at the historical exhibition.

- Please be precise in stating the topic of the workshop, preferred date of the meeting, number of classes, school, contact phone number, as well as the name of the teacher
- Please order workshops at least one week in advance
- Classes should be confirmed or cancelled 2-3 days before the date of the class
- We are open to your thematic proposals; we invite you to cooperate in the creation of new topics for classes (application at least 2 months before the planned date of the workshop)

- Cost of participation in the workshop: PLN 8 per person
- max. 25 people in a group
- Duration of classes, depending on the topic - 45 min. - 1,5 h
- Teachers and guardians coming with their school class to the classes are not charged
- Payment for the workshop should be made on the day of the class at the cash desk
