The exhibition is a joint project of the Historical Unit of the ZHP, a scout troop in Chojnice and the Historical and Ethnographic Museum of Jan Rydzkowski in Chojnice.
Its main goal is to present selected aspects of the history of the Polish Scouting Association in the town over a hundred years.
Photographs, archives and souvenirs presented at the exhibition show various aspects of the inner life of the troop as well as its involvement in broadly understood social activity.
In addition to the image of Tadeusz Czapla, the first commander of the troop, the exhibition also includes protocols of scout assemblies from the 1920s, the banner given to the troop in 1960, or even orders issued by its commanders.
The exhibition presents an excerpt from chronicles of the first scout team of Tadeusz Kościuszko from the years 1939-1947. The excerpt, which is publicly displayed for the first time, contains photos from the first field camp in Funka, right after the war. These photos depict famous scout activists such as Fr. Brunon Rieband and Jerzy Stawowski.
The arrangement of the display uses old and modern elements of the camp and scout equipment.
The project was supported by Municipal Library of Jan Kasprowicz in Inowrocław, the Museum of Kashubian-Pomeranian Literature and Music in Wejherowo, the Headquarters of the Scouts in Chojnice, the 42nd Multilevel Scout Team of Wicek Frelichowski in Chojnice and private persons.
