Photographic Competition Results ‘The Past in Lens. Heritage around us’ 2023

The Julian Rydzkowski Historical and Ethnographic Museum in Chojnice would like to kindly inform you that on 14 November a meeting of the Jury of the Photographic Competition entitled ‘The Past in Lens.
The heritage around us’, during which the submitted photographs were assessed.

 

The competition was open to children and young people in two age categories:

Group I - classes IV - VIII of primary school

Group II - Secondary school

 

The aim of the competition is to discover local cultural heritage, to identify and learn more about the diverse nature of Pomeranian architecture, and to deepen knowledge of the region's rich history. It is also intended to raise awareness and make people think about the value and state of preservation of historical monuments by showing examples of care for them as well as threats and lack of proper care for their protection.

 

The jury was guided by the following criteria when assessing the works:

- compliance with the theme,

- idea

- originality,

- independence.

 

The works were judged by a Jury consisting of:

Daniel Frymark - photographer

Barbara Zagórska - art historian

Sabina Stawska - Połom - museum educator

Anna Depka Prądzyńska - competition secretary

Group I - primary school classes IV - VIII:

Main prize:

Martyna Jezierska, age 13, SP Myśligoszcz, ‘Roman Catholic Church of St. Michael the Archangel in Słupia’.

 

Distinctions:

- Ignatius Jędraszczyk, aged 11, Montessouri Christian School, ‘Pickle house, railway pump, water tower’.

- Soraya Essaadi, age 10, grade IV, Primary School 8, ‘Mary's shrine in Chojniczki, bunker in Męcikale, cross in Chojniczki’.

 

Group II - secondary schools:

Main prize:

Szymon Karlinski, age 14, LO Czersk, ‘Czersk cemeteries’.

 

Distinctions:

- Dominika Borzyszkowska, aged 16, Technical School No. 3 in Chojnice, ‘Monuments of bygone eras enclosed in new architecture (Zaborski Castle, Chapel of the Name of the Servant of God Jan Stoltmann)’

- Jan Schultz, age 15, Technical School No. 3 in Chojnice, ‘Człuchowska Gate and Minor Basilica in Chojnice’.

 

We would like to thank all Participants for their participation in the Competition and already invite them to take part in next year's edition. We congratulate the winners and invite them to collect their prizes and commemorative diplomas at the Człuchowska Gate from 22 November this year.
